Riaan Louw

Riaan Louw is currently the Executive Head of Sales and Bancassurance at Bank Windhoek. He holds a B.Comm degree from the North-West University (Potchefstroom) and started his career in the Insurance Industry 26 years ago as an Insurance Clerk at the Potchefstroom branch of Santam Limited. Here he obtained his Intermediate Certificate in Insurance and later went on to obtain this Higher Certificate. He also completed a Management Development Program at WITS in South Africa.

Throughout the years he has held various senior positions, including Marketing Manager (1998-2001), General Manager: Marketing (2001-2003), Head: Resource Centre (2003-2004), Regional Manager (2005-2006), Chief Executive (2006-2011), Head: Agriculture (2011-2012), Head: Broker Distribution North (2013-2014), General Manager (2015) and Acting Managing Director (2016-2018).

He has served on various boards and management committees, including on Santam’s MANCO, as a Sanlam Namibia EXCO Member, and as EMT member at Sanlam Namibia and Bank Windhoek. He has also served on the Board of Directors for Santam Namibia (2006-2011), Nasria Namibia (2007-2011), Saham Angola (2017-2019) and as Chairperson for Regenstein Estate (current).
